We had a very successful Unity Walk on May 2, 2015, which took place on the Detroit/Grosse Pointe border in an effort to bring the two communities closer together. Hundreds of participants turned out to show their support for the families of Paige Stalker and Christina Samuel as well as other families who lost loved ones to violence. At the end of the walk there were a number of speakers, including members of Crime Stoppers, who urged the audience to speak up if they had information about crime in their communities. Detroit's Mayor Mike Duggan declared the day to be Peace and Unity Day in Detroit. Grosse Pointe Park Mayor Greg Theokas, Congresswoman Brenda Lawrence, Detroit Councilman Andre Spivey and Detroit Police Chief James Craig were among other the speakers.
Our First Fundraiser
We had our first fund raising event on July 30th at the Grosse Pointe Yacht Club which was a sell-out. Thanks to all who participated!
